- 2nd Vice President / Principal (appointed)
The Foster PTA President presides at all meetings of the Foster PTA, including monthly Executive Board meetings, and coordinates the work of the Foster PTA officers and committees. (S)He serves as an ex officio member of all committees except the nominating committee, the election committee, and the auditing committee, if authorized to sign checks.
The president works with the principal to promote the education of our students. (S)He also attends and participates in the Mt. Lebanon School District Council PTA meetings, as well as Presidents meetings, both held monthly.
1st Vice President
The Foster PTA 1st Vice President acts as an aide to the president. (S)He will preform the duties of the president in the president's absence or inability to serve.
(S)He also has primary responsibility for program and calendar planning, being a member of the Bylaws/Standing Rules subcommittee, chair the Budget committee, and appoint standing committee chairmen.
2nd Vice President / Principal (appointed)
The Foster PTA Second Vice President is an appointed position, reserved for the principal or his/her appointed delegate. (S)He shall act as an advisor and liaison between the PTA, the Foster staff, and the School District.
The Foster PTA Treasurer has custody of, and maintains a full acount of, the funds of the Foster PTA. (S)He makes disbursements as authorized by the executive board, in accordance with the budget adopted by the Foster PTA.
A written financial statement is required to be presented to the executive board at each meeting. An annual report of the financial condition of the Foster PTA is to be presented, as well. All records and transactions are subject to Audit at the end of each fiscal year.
The Foster PTA Secretary records the minutes of all meetings of the Foster PTA, and presents a written copy of the previous meeting's records at each meeting. (S)He maintains a current copy of the bylaws and membership list, as well as at least the previous twelve meetings. Attending to correspondence may be assigned as necessary.
The Foster PTA Historian keeps a record of activities and achievements of the organization, as well as makes the information available to local, council, district or state leaders as requested. (S)He keeps a list of officers, standing committee rules, a copy of the bylaws, and the amendments.
Each committee chairperson and officer maintains a binder of pertinent information and reports for each position. The Historian is responsible for collection of all year-end committee and officer reports for the organization, then updating as needed.
